“Horses are great teachers. They reflect your emotions back to you. They teach you things that people can't.” -STRIDES student |
Equine-Assisted Learning (EAL) is an experiential approach to education using guided interactions with horses to promote personal growth, self-awareness, and interpersonal skills. Horses respond authentically to human behavior and emotional states and they serve as powerful mirrors—providing honest feedback that helps participants reflect on their actions, intentions, and patterns of interaction.
Learning with horses fosters problem-solving, communication, empathy, mindfulness, and trust—qualities that translate into more effective collaboration and resilience in academic, professional, and personal settings. Whether used with students, educators, athletic or organizational teams, EAL creates a unique environment where learning is both deeply engaging and transformative.
